5.8-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Assam’s Guwahati, Tremors Felt In North Bengal & Bhutan
The magnitude of the earthquake that happened in Guwahati, Assam, was 5.8, which was felt even as far as North Bengal and the neighbouring Bhutan.
The magnitude of the earthquake that happened in Guwahati, Assam, was 5.8, which was felt even as far as North Bengal and the neighbouring Bhutan. India National Center of Seismology registered the depth of the quake to 5 kilometers with its epicenter being in the town of Udalguri.
Frightened citizens fled out of their houses in Guwahati.
There were no reports on injury or damage to property.

In the high seismic area, earthquakes are common in the region, with the officials saying that it is the northeast falls.
Chief Minister Himanta Sarma warned that there is no report of any significant damage or loss of life and his government is actively keeping an eye on the situation.
Assam former chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who is currently the Union Minister of Ports, appealed to the people to be on the alert.

News of the incident spread and soon enough, Guwahati topped the trends list. The individuals visited X to post updates and pictures.
This is following three days after the earthquake that occurred in Sonitpur, Assam, on September 2, 3.5 magnitude.
