Himachal Monsoon Death Toll Rises to 257; Landslip Kills Two in Rain-Hit Mumbai

The number of people injured by the State in the midst of the ongoing monsoon stands at 331 and 37 have gone missing.
Two lives were lost and two others injured when landslip reached Jankalayan Society in Mumbai, Maharashtra on Saturday (August 16, 2025), a senior official said.

According to them this incident occurred at about 2.39 a.m. at Varsha Nagar, Vikhroli Parksite, which comes under the Jurisdiction of the Collector.
A hut caved in after soil and stones on a nearby hillock in front of the building fell and left four individuals injured, officials of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
At the same time, India meteorological department (IMD) declared a red alert in Mumbai as it is facing waterlogging in multiple locations.
