B-2 Bomber Flies Over as Trump Displays Military Strength: As President Donald Trump stepped off Air Force One and onto the tarmac at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, a B-2 stealth bomber flew overhead, flanked by four F-35s.
Putin looked up at the sky as the planes buzzed overhead while he walked alongside Trump, and then made a comment to the U.S. president.
It was as much a symbol as it was a show of force—a reminder of America’s military reach at the very moment the two leaders were about to discuss global security.
Trump waited for Putin to get off his plane and the two leaders shook hands and walked to the stage with “Alaska 2025” written on it as the B-2 Bomber and F-22 Raptors flew above.

The leaders ignored the shouted questions from the press. When a reporter asked Putin if he would stop killing civilians, Putin smirked and pointed to his ear. Both leaders got into President Trump’s ‘Beast’. It’s unusual to see the leaders of two superpowers — in this case adversaries — ride in the same car.
The B-2 Spirit, also known as the B-2 stealth bomber, is a game changer that has been the backbone of American airpower and stealth technology for over 30 years. First flown in 1989, the B-2 is one of the most formidable and survivable strategic bombers in the world.
The aircraft was designed to penetrate dense and sophisticated enemy air defenses, allowing it to hit heavily fortified targets with minimal detection risk. It can fly 6,000 nautical miles without refueling and its range can be extended through aerial refueling for long duration missions into hostile territory.

The B-2 Bombers were used recently when the US military launched an unprecedented attack on Iran’s nuclear sites in June when Tehran was at war with Israel. A team of seven B-2 bombers flew a 37-hour non-stop round trip to hit Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz and returned to Missouri.
Trump and Putin appeared briefly at what was billed as a joint press conference — though neither took questions. They talked about an “understanding” and “progress” and praised each other from podiums far apart before a backdrop that read “Pursuing peace”.Trump has been begging Putin to stop the invasion of Ukraine and agree to a ceasefire after saying during last year’s campaign he could end the war in 24 hours. Trump has been unhappy with Russia’s 3+ year old war and had threatened “severe consequences” and more sanctions if nothing happened Friday.
The tension between the two leaders was not apparent as they shook hands and smiled as Trump welcomed Putin back to U.S. soil for the first time in 10 years. But as they parted, nobody knew what’s next.
