Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Visit India on August 18 | Key Diplomatic Talks Ahead
Chinese Foreign affairs Minister Wang Yi is scheduled to visit New Delhi to conduct the 24 th round of interactions between special representatives of China and India on the boundary issue at the invitation of New Delhi

On Saturday (August 16, 2025) Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced that Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi will visit India, between August 18 and 20.

At the behest of New Delhi, Mr. Wang will preside over the 24th round of talks between Special Representatives of China and India on boundary question.
With an invitation by the Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is going to visit India on August 18, 2025. As part of his visit, an official announcement by the Ministry of External Affairs said that he will be leading the 24 th round of the Special Representatives (SR) Talks on the India-China boundary question with Mr. Doval. Mr. It added that Wang Yi will also be meeting External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar bilaterally on the Special Representatives of China and India talks.

It is the second time such a meeting is being held since a lethal posture between the Indian and Chinese troops at the boundary in 2020.
Thawing between the two countries has been experienced since an agreement was reached last October on patrolling their border, which had resulted thus in easing a five year standoff that had been harming trade, investment and air travel.
On the last week of this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit China where he will be expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping - his first visit to China in seven years to participate in the summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), which is a regional security bloc.
