Delhi Flood Victim Beaten for Asking Tea and Snacks; Civil Defence Staff Accused of Negligence

Delhi Flood Victim Beaten: The recent floods in Delhi have affected many people. The Delhi government has made arrangements for relief material and accommodation for the flood victims. Under the supervision of the MLAs, it has been ensured that no flood victim is deprived of food or shelter. Despite this, some incidents have come to light in the relief camp, which has become a matter of concern.

The presence of civil defense staff deployed on duty is being seen in the relief camp. The main task of these employees is to assist the flood victims. But in a recent incident, a case of brutality with flood victims has come to light. A video has gone viral on social media in which flood victims are being brutally beaten up. The condition of flood victims is catastrophic. A victim, Ajit Yadav, said that after the flood, his life has become like that of animals. He had asked for permission to stay in the relief camp for a few more days, but when he tried to take tea and breakfast, the Civil Defense personnel beat him up.

Ajit says that he was abused and thrown out while taking relief material. The video of this incident has gone viral on social media and shows several injuries on Ajeet's body. This incident is shameful not only for Ajeet but for all flood victims.

Another flood victim said that he had only asked for one meal but was beaten up instead. He was locked up in the police station for asking for tea, and his entire family was thrown out of the camp for asking for shelter. This situation raises questions on the relief work of the Delhi government.

The Delhi government is sending relief material for the flood victims, but the beatings by the Civil Defence employees are giving a bad name to this relief work. The lack of any action against the accused proves that there is great negligence in the system. However, the flood victims are now trying to repair their old houses on the banks of the Yamuna. They are forced to live in this environment again. This situation is not only a threat to their livelihood but also to their human rights.
