Telangana Bans Benefit Shows After Stampede at Pushpa 2 Premiere: Cinematography Minister

Telangana Bans Benefit Shows After Stampede at Pushpa 2 Premiere: Telangana cinematography minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy has clearly state that the government will not allow any type of benefit shows after Pushpa 2: The Rule premiere stampede created death of a person.

He criticized the whole Pushpa 2 team for denying safety to the people and failing to get the necessary permissions, as per South First report. The cinematography minister reminded the team that they should help the family of the deceased.

“It is very sad to see the family suffer like that. As a cinematography minister, I am appealing to the film’s producers and hero to support the family. The husband recently recovered from a liver transplant, and now his wife is no more, and his son is in the hospital," the report quoted Reddy.

The cinematography minister accused the lead actor of Pushpa 2. Allu Arjun has also been called in for visiting the theatre which was already much crowded and said that there wasn't any need for the actor to go to the theatre.

Now, according to this incident, it is a hero's visit to a particular theatre that has been mandated as needing permission from the government. The government soon plans to come out with guidelines.

“From now on, no benefit shows will be allowed in the state. If a hero wants to visit a theatre, they can go with their security and get permission from the government first," Reddy said.

Most of the states in South India will hold benefit shows for high-budget films during which tickets will suddenly escalate in price even before the film is released to boost collections.

The premiere of Pushpa 2, featuring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Fassil among the cast, was held on December 4, just one day short of the actual premiere date of the film, which was on December 5.

Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and other groups of team members from the film came to Sandhya Theatres Hyderabad for staging one such premiere event. There was a stampede at the overcrowded theater, resulting in demise of a 39-year-old woman and sending her son to the hospital. A case is filed against Allu Arjun too.
