Congress Files Privilege Motion Against BJP MPs Over ‘Traitor’ & ‘Soros Link’ Remarks on Rahul Gandhi

Congress Files Privilege Motion Against BJP MPs: The privilege motion filed by Congress against Bihar MPs Nishikant Dubey and Sambit Patra pertain to their questioning and reflecting on Rahul Gandhi in controversial ways. The Congress party, during Parliament's proceedings on Friday, claimed that this diverting tactic would lead to a discussion on topics of significant importance, including that of Adani's.

Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi expressed disgust over the handling of this matter, stating, “We wanted a ruling from the Speaker on the privilege motion, but the Question Hour was adjourned. Shockingly, the same members who made the derogatory remarks were allowed to speak again in Parliament.” Top brass in the government is only the voice ensuring about turning down its arguments on sensitive issues with the Opposition.

General Secretary KC Venugopal also condemned the government, and described it as “bulldozing” and said it put pressure on the Speaker in the Parliament. “Remarks against Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders are becoming increasingly derogatory, and the government is allowing this trend to continue unchecked,” Venugopal said.

The controversy heated up further when BJP MP Nishikant Dubey asked Zero Hour: "Why is there so much to be spent on associating with people like Salil Shetty of the Open Society Foundation and others?" Dubey told that they cast doubts on the funding of the Bharat Jodo Movement and the ideological motivations behind it.

He also added fire to flames when BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra called Rahul Gandhi as “traitor of highest order” during one of the press conferences. Patra alleged that that Gandhi was a part of a “dangerous triangle” with leading global financier George Soros and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), aiming to destabilize India through such activities.

The Congress adamantly denied these charges. Showing the Constitution in an act-like protest, Rahul Gandhi took to social media and proclaimed that this deep state, paid by Adani, will not intimidate him nor his party. The war of words has been getting hotter day by day as they were flinging allegations against each other about infringing democratic discourse.
