Rakul Preet Singh Hits Back at ‘Doctor’ Claiming She Underwent Plastic Surgery: ‘It’s Scary That People Like Him…’

Since body shaming to the unsolicited medical analysis, celebrities are usually the centre of online speculations. One such statement has now been countered by Bollywood actor Rakul Preet Singh who followed a man who posed as a plastic and cosmetic surgeon who claimed that her face had changed drastically as a result of plastic surgery.

On Monday, Rakul posted on Instagram and uploaded an video where a man who identified himself as a medical professional compared her appearance before and after and implied that she has been undergoing cosmetic surgery. The man in the video compared old photos of Rakul with the current ones and alleged that the actor had Botox, fillers and a nose job. He also opposed her not openly talking about her cosmetic surgery and just talking about fitness as a way of setting impractical expectations on other people.

Giving a stinging warning, Rakul wrote, “Fraud alert: it’s scary that people like him are claiming to be doctors and making statements without any factual checks and misleading people.” She added that while she has no issue with anyone choosing to undergo cosmetic procedures, spreading baseless claims in the name of science is unacceptable.

She further said that, although she has no problem with those who opt to have cosmetic surgeries done on them, propagation of false allegations in the guise of science is unacceptable.

The actor also highlighted the fact that physical transformation is also possible through regular fitness and discipline.

“Being an actor who understands ancient and modern science, I have no issues if people do surgeries, but there is also another thing called weight loss that comes from hard work. Ever heard of that?” she wrote, cautioning followers to “beware of such ‘doctors’.”

Rakul has recently received some acclaim over her work in De De Pyaar De 2. The movie was released alongside R Madhavan, Ajay Devgn, and Meezaan Jaffri and earned 111.53 crore globally with a budgeting figure of 135 crore.

The next she will appear in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film will also feature Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, and Wamiqa Gabbi in the major roles and is to be released in theatres in March 2026. Other than this, Fig 3 is also in the pipeline of Rakul.
