Lionel Messi’s Delhi Visit: Rodrigo De Paul Comes to Young Fan’s Rescue, Pushes Security Away During Photo Shoot – Watch

Lionel Messi’s Delhi Visit: On Monday, Lionel Messi visited the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, and Rodrigo De Paul demonstrated that he was a classy man. When the Argentine was taking a group photo with the fans, De Paul went up to him to invite a little boy to join the group.

In a video that has become viral on social media, the Inter Miami midfielder was looking at a security guard standing next to Messi and making the photoshoot. De Paul accommodatingly forced the guard back with a smile, and had the boy stand beside Messi.

It was a touching act and could have gone viral over social media. The fans jokingly believe that De Paul is the bodyguard of Messi because the midfielder has been on the side of Messi whenever he had Argentina duty.

Here is the video:

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta was also present where Messi was meeting De Paul and Luis Suarez. In the meantime, Jay Shah, the ICC chief, and Rohan Jaitley, the boss of DDCA, accompanied the Delhi CM. Shah is another person who gave Messi, De Paul and suarez jerseys of Indian cricket team. In the meantime, Messi also received a framed bat.

Compared to Kolkata, the event in New Delhi was more and properly organized in regards to how Messi related with fans. The VIP culture was found in enormous numbers in the field, with exception to some.

Messi was also able to meet an Indian football legend Bhaichung Bhutia in the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Bhutia also joined a photo together with Messi, Suarez and De Paul.

The Argentine also had an opportunity to be introduced to Sunil Chhetri when he was in Mumbai in the Wankhede Stadium. Messi also happened to meet the Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar other than Chhetri.

On Instagram, Chhetri said, "The build-up to Saturday was filled with little fights, and in a rare win, Sunil Chhetri the fan beat Sunil Chhetri the pro, and I couldn't be happier about it. I've been nursing an injury that's restricted me to a hobble and needless to say, I don't like being around even myself when I'm spending more time on the physio's table than the pitch."

"I almost didn't make the trip to Mumbai, till the fan in me rebelled and went anyway. Turned out, meeting the man who makes me very happy, and whose art is my antidote for all the times I am sad, was exactly what I needed. To be able to express my gratitude to Leomessi in person for everything that he has done for our sport, felt like both - a dream and a duty.

"It was lovely to meet another World Cup winner in Rodrigo De Paul, and then there was the child-like excitement to share the frame with arguably the most complete No.9 of our generation - Luis Suarez. And Mumbai, you absolute beauty, thank you for making me feel so loved. I do not take it for granted. At the end of it, I guess, both the Chhetri's turned up on Saturday and the joy was twice as much," he added.
