Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan Reunite With Bhediya Director Amar Kaushik, Fuel Sequel Speculation Among Fans

Fans are asking the question why Bollywood actors Kriti Sanon, Varun Dhawan, and director Amar Kaushik are back together. The three have reignited the speculation after Kriti posted a video of her with Varun and Amar on her social media. The three haven't released what became of their partnership, but her caption has left fans speculating about a new project.

It was a video that Varun reposted on his Instagram Story on Monday, which was then re-posted by Kriti. The video was shared by Kriti and she wrote: “An unplanned encounter that will make you ‘Obsessed’! ???????????? Now stay Tuned! ❤️”. The word "obsessed" has got everyone's attention, as fans are now wondering what the trio might be alluding to. Is it about Bhediya 2 seeing as they howl in the video or is it something else altogether? As of yet, there is no official confirmation.

Is Bhediya team reuniting?

Kriti, Varun and Amar have previously co-stared in Bhediya, which was released in November 2022. The horror-comedy will be about Bhaskar (played by Varun), a road-construction contractor who gets bitten by a wolf in the forests of Arunachal Pradesh. He soon starts to suffer a weird transformation into a werewolf. Kriti was a vet, Anika who knows more about the mysterious happenings than she lets on.

Bhediya, directed by Amar Kaushik, the creator of Stree, combined supernatural elements with humour and local folklore. The movie also addressed environmental issues, presenting the theme of humans and nature through the lens of the werewolf. It also had a great visual style and quirky comedy, making it stand out in the horror comedy genre and thus joining the Maddock Supernatural Universe. According to Sacnilk, Bhediya has grossed ₹94.41 crore on a global scale in his lifetime.

Even Varun featured in Stree 2 in 2024...his character saved Shraddha Kapoor's character. The production house Maddock Films had announced a list of films for release in 2025 and Bhediya 2 was officially announced to be released in August 2026. However, since then there has been no progress on projects, as they have been delayed.

What's next for Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan?

Both Kriti and Varun have a busy slate of projects. Recently, Varun Dhawan appeared in the film “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai”. Prior to that, he was in Border 2. Last year, Kriti Sanon also released two movies. She was seen in Tere Ishk Mein and most recently, Cocktail 2.

Actor Sadia Khateeb will be the writer of this fright-filled drama which it was recently reported will be the next venture of Kriti Sanon's in Maddock Films universe. In the meantime, Varun is said to be in discussions with director Abhay Pannu for the Yash Raj Films' first ever horror feature film.

A source close to the project earlier this year informed Hindustan Times that Varun has joined the team as the lead for Yash Raj Films (YRF)'s “first horror film”. Assuming it goes as planned, this will be the actor's first venture with YRF since the slice-of-life drama Sui Dhaaga (2018) had both Anushka Sharma and him.
