Aryan Khan’s Nani Showers Love on Him as He Receives His First Award, Promises to Dedicate the Next One to Her

The fact that the son of the superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, had won his first award even better with his nani, Savita Chhibber, accompanying him to the event. The boastful grandmother was unable to contain her excitement when she was talking about the success of Aryan.

Moved by her expressions, Aryan vowed that he would dedicate his next award to her making the night an emotional family affair.

Aryan hugs his nani

Aryan won the Best Debutant Director of the Year award in the NDTV Indian of the Year event in New Delhi on Friday. He came to the ceremony with his nani, Savita Chhibber. Some of the videos recorded Aryan emotional when his nani stepped into the stage to receive the honour.

In one of the videos that are currently going around the web, Shalini Passi, who was also in attendance of the ceremony, is seen extending his hand to Savita, and telling her, “This is totally impromptu. Aryan’s grandmother is here and I’m putting you in the spotlight… please, you have to say something.”

After this, Savita poured her affection on Aryan. She said, "I'm very happy. He is being so successful. My blessings to him. I love you the most. You are my most loved grandson. I'm so proud. At this age, I'm just hearing about my grandson and his achievement has been honoured by the whole country."

Aryan was obviously touched by her words and his face was curved with a smile. He replied with a smile that her next prize would be in her honour, and he promised.

She made Aryan feel touched, and he could not help smiling. He replied that his next award was going to be in her honor, I promise agla wala aapka hoga. He then proceeded to her, touched her feet as a sign of respect, and gave her a warm hug.

Aryan also used his acceptance speech to dedicate the award to his mother, Gauri Khan and he also mentioned his father Shah Rukh.

“Good evening everyone. Sabse phele main apne cast, crew aur Netflix ko thank you kehna chahtha hun jinhone ek first time director pe itna bharosa kiya aur mere saath itne pyaar, mehnaat aur enthusiasm ke saath kaam kiya. Congratulations to all the winners tonight. (First of all, I would like to thank my cast, crew and Netflix for placing so much faith in a first-time director and for working with me with such love, hard work and enthusiasm),” Aryan said.

He added, “Yeh mera phela award hai and I hope mujhe aur bhi bahut sare awards milenge kyunki mere dad ki tarahn mujhe bhi aawards bahut pasand hain. But this award is not for him. This award is for my mom kyunki meri mom mujhse hamesha kehti hain jaldi sona, logun ka mazak nahi udana aur gaali galoch bilkul nahi… aur aaj inhi sab cheezun ke liye mujhe yeh award mila hai.. Thank you for making my mom the happiest woman in the world and I know aaj ghar jaake mujhe thodhi kum dant padegi (This is my first award, and I hope I win many more because, just like my dad, I really love awards. But this award is not for him. This award is for my mom, because she always tells me to sleep early, not to make fun of people, and absolutely no abusive language… and today, I received this award for all those very things. Thank you for making my mom the happiest woman in the world, and I know that when I go home today, I’ll be scolded a little less).”

Aryan won the award in the category of his directorial debut series The Ba***ds of Bollywood, published on Netflix on September 18. Satirical comedy Lakshya, with Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba and Bobby Deol in prime roles, received a good reception both by critics and the audiences. A crisp examination of the Hindi movie business the show explores the politics of power within Bollywood and the struggle of the outsiders. Anya Singh, Mona Singh and Manoj Pahwa also appeared in it. The show was also named the most popular Indian Series on IMDb in 2025 in the beginning of the month.
