Delhi Pollution: CAQM Implements GRAP Stage 3 as Air Quality Deteriorates
At 4 pm, the 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) was placed at 371, suggesting a rise in the trend of air pollution levels in Delhi.

Delhi Pollution: The Stage 3 prohibitions prescribed under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) were activated by the Commission for Air Quality Management, which is the central committee for monitoring the air quality across Delhi-NCR, last Friday, when the levels of the city's air pollution increased due to adverse weather conditions.
Delhi had an average 24-hour AQI of 371 at 4 p.m. According to forecasts from the India Meteorological Department and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, the air quality situation is predicted to deteriorate due to weather conditions, reported PTI.

The CAQM hastened authorities in the region to seal curbs prescribed under stage 3 immediately against the deteriorating city air pollution.
Last week, with the improvement of pollution levels in the national capital and adjoining areas due to rainfalls, the CAQM lifted Stage 3 curbs under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). The decision was taken last week after Delhi's air pollution levels showed a declining trend and the 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) stood at 324.
The Supreme Court has directed GRAP Stage-III measures to be implemented by the anti-pollution body and Delhi government when the AQI exceeds 350 as well as reintroduction of Stage IV measures once it surpasses 400.
