Woman Lawyer Scammed of ₹14.57 Lakh Forced to Strip on Camera: On Tuesday, police said a 29-year-old lawyer in Bengaluru, Karnataka, became the latest victim of the 'FedEx' scam, in which scammers posed as CBI officers and, in addition to stealing 14 lakh rupees, posed nude on camera.

The 29-year-old victim from the city received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Fedex's customer service department, telling her her parcel had been returned and she needed to call them.

The incident occurred between April 3 and 5, according to police.

There was a complaint filed at the Bengaluru East division cybercrime police station regarding this matter.

As per the police, what started as a call from scammers claiming that a package in her name had been delivered to Thailand quickly escalated into a nearly one-and-a-half-day-long call, as cyber crooks recorded her naked and blackmailed her for ransom by threatening to sell the clipping on the dark web.

It took the layer 35 hours to complete the call, which lasted from 2.15 pm on April 3 to 1.15 am on April 5. He lost Rs 14.57 lakh during the call.

What actually happened?

She received a call from someone claiming to be from Fedex's customer service who said the parcel had been returned and she had to speak with a customer service representative.

According to the executive, the parcel contained five passports, three credit cards, and 140 synthetic narcotics (MDMA) sent from Mumbai to Thailand in her name.

Since the parcel contained narcotics, it was on hold, and if she had not placed it, she should contact the cyber crime team in Mumbai to register an ID theft complaint.

"When I confirmed that I wanted to file an identity theft complaint, they transferred my call to the cybercrime team in Mumbai. The cybercrime team asked me to download Skype and enter my email address." she wrote in her complaint.

Then she was asked about the 'illegal parcel' and her Aadhaar card.

The 'cyber crime team' said they'd talk to higher-ups.

"I was then informed that my Aadhaar card was on high alert for human trafficking and drugs. After this, the Skype call was transferred to an alleged senior CBI officer named Abhishek Chauhan where I was asked to switch on the camera and start a conversation," the complainant said.

She said the 'CBI officer' informed her that there was a case of human trafficking, money laundering, and identity theft.

During the investigation, the police asked for details about the victim's bank account, including his existing balance, his annual CTC, his monthly income, and his investments.

This was a 'highly sensitive case,' so she was sworn not to disclose any details until the investigation was complete.

It was forbidden for the victim to talk to her parents or the police because "police and politicians were involved."

Her complaint says they asked her to sleep all day so they could monitor her calls and texts.

It was requested that she transfer Rs 10,78,993 from her bank account to the account holder named Nithin Joseph on April 4. They also made two separate transactions on Amazon worth Rs 2.04 lakh and Rs 1.74 lakh on April 5.

On April 5, they made two separate Amazon transactions worth 2.04 lakh and 1.74 lakh.

According to the complaint, she was forced to strip and pose on camera on the pretext of conducting 'narcotic tests'.

She and her family were threatened with arrest if she continued.

According to her complaint, the alleged officer blackmailed her by threatening to sell her video to a wide variety of people, including the dark web, if I didn't pay him by 3 pm on April 5.
