Unconventional Tools of Warfare: Rajnath Singh Highlights Emerging Global Challenges

Unconventional Tools of Warfare: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday underlined that keeping pace with emerging frontier technologies would not only ensure the nation of survival in a rapidly changing global landscape but also usher the military training centers into shape for the soldiers' states-of-determined future warfare challenges.

The minister said this while addressing officers at the Army War College (AWC) in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. He referred to the newly emerging shapes that modern warfare could take, namely, information warfare itself, Artificial Intelligence-driven war strategies, proxy wars, electromagnetic warfare, space operations, and cyberthreats. Such kinds of warfare could give a new and customized shape to the military strategies.

The Indian Defense Minister also emphasized that the military must remain fully trained and equipped to face these new kinds of threats.

Speaking about India Vision: 2047, Singh said that India is on the fast track to becoming the most significant manufacturing hub. He also mentioned achievements in defense modernization and noted that India is not just modernizing its military equipment but also ramping up defense exports.

Singh also reiterated the government's commitment to strengthening integration and the jointness of all three services and believed that this approach would allow the Indian Armed Forces to face challenges much more effectively in the coming years.

On the other hand, the Defence Minister has also presented a very bright picture of forward-looking defence attaches, encouraging them to fall in line with the government vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' and protect national interests globally. Self-reliance according to him stands at the core of strengthening the defense capabilities of India and elevating it in the world.

At the end of the speech, Singh affirmed the commitment of the government to make India one of the mightiest nations economically and militarily in the world. He stressed that economic prosperity would be directly associated with national security, invigorating each other. By 2047, India will not only declare itself a developed nation but will also possess one of the most modern and powerful militaries in the world.
