R Madhavan Reacts to ‘Jealousy’ Buzz as Akshaye Khanna Gets Praise for His Role in Dhurandhar

Dhurandhar by Aditya Dhar is also still performing well in the box office with Akshaye Khanna receiving much applause as a cold-blooded gangster. Through the success of the film, there are reports that R Madhavan feels sidelined as Akshaye grabs the limelight. Madhavan has now responded to the buzz and it is also evident that he is happy with Akshaye.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Madhavan responded to reports by some social media users who questioned whether he is dissatisfied with Akshaye Khanna receiving so much attention on his role in the spy thriller that also features Ranveer Singh.

In reply to it, Madhavan said, “Not at all! I cannot be happier for Akshaye. He deserves every bit of the adulation he is getting. What a talented actor! And to be so grounded. He could be giving a million interviews. But he is sitting in his new home, enjoying the silence that he has always cherished. I mean, I thought I was the underplayer when it came to public attention. But Akshaye Khanna is on another level. He just doesn’t care. Success, failure are all the same to him,” said Madhavan.

Madhavan added, “Just being part of Dhurandhar is enough. The film is making history, and I am glad to be part of it. Neither Akshaye nor the director Aditya Dhar are interested in cashing in on the success.”

Dhurandhar is a written, directed and co-produced film of Aditya Dhar and starred Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. The movie stars Madhavan Ajay Sanyal, Director of the Intelligence Bureau and Akshaye Rehman Dakait, the leader of the Baloch gang.

The movie narrates the events of a man, Jaskirat Singh Rangi, also known as Hamza Ali Mazari, portrayed by Ranveer, who joins a gang of Rehman Dakait to pass important information to India. Dhurandhar has been experiencing a golden streak in the box office through a very good word of mouth. The movie has already earned a total of ₹483 crore in India in 15 days at the box office.
