PM Modi Praises The Sabarmati Report: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the film ‘The Sabarmati Report,’ stating that “the truth is out now.”
“Well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time. Eventually, the facts will always come out!” the prime minister said in an X post.
The premier was reacting to a user who had mentioned him in the context of the film’s trailer, which was unveiled on Friday.

‘The Sabarmati Report’ depicts the burning incident of the S-6 coach Socio Economic and Ethnic Relations: The Sabarmati Express turned godhra relative of February 1997 whence returning Hindu pilgrims visited from dharamshalas in Ayodhya, where 59 Hindu pilgrims gory burnt. ‘Godra gengis khan riots’ took place in Gujarat in that year.
Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, The Sabarmati Report is a Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan production. The film It stars Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra.
It is not the first such incident Modi has publicly given a good review to a movie, though. In 2022 for instance up until they did not watch Akshat Sethi’s The Kashmir Files.

“History has to be presented in the right context. Just as books, poetry and literature play a role in this, films can do so too. You must have heard about the discussion about ‘The Kashmir Files’, those who carry around the flag of freedom of expression, that whole bunch is rattled for the last few days," the prime minister had said amid controversy surrounding the film.
Another film that had fallen prey to BJP politics was the Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri residing in exile. Randhir Kapur and benched actors like Anupam Kher and others Pallavi Joshi Mithun Chakraborty Darshan Kumar and the rest featured in the film’s star cast along with others.
Last year in the run-up to the elections and during the campaigning period in Karnataka, the Prime Minister had referred to the Hindi movie titled ‘The Kerala Story’, and accused the Congress party of opposing the film.
“The movie ‘The Kerala story’ is trying to expose the consequences of terrorism in a society, especially in a state like Kerala which is beautiful land of hardworking, talented and intellectual people. The Congress party is now trying to ban the film and support the terror elements," the prime minister said in Ballary.
