FM Nirmala Sitharaman: Recognising the complexity of government, an X user advised the minister to think about relieving the middle class's financial load. In response, Sitharaman said that PM Modi's administration pays attention to and hears what people have to say.
In a prompt response, a social media user who voiced concerns regarding the financial burdens on the middle class Sitharaman acknowledged his worry and assured him that his message was taken seriously.
She provided her word that the administration is determined to tackling these concerns through current and prospective projects.
“PM Modi's government listens and attends to people's voices. Your input is valuable,” she replied.

Although she emphasised in her response that the administration is paying attention to public input, rising inflation rates have left middle-class households with difficult financial situations.

The Union Minister acknowledged and valued his concern in response, emphasising the government's responsiveness.
The GST on expenditures and income tax on earnings fall on India's middle class.
The nation's infrastructure and welfare programs are mostly financed by this segment, which makes up around 2% of the population.

According to 2023 government figures, only 2.24 crore people, or 1.6% of the total population, paid taxes in 2022–2023.
The two components of direct taxes, income taxes (income tax) and corporation taxes, have increased in India. Direct tax receipts currently exceed indirect taxes, which is a positive indicator.
The budget for 2024 provided some respite for paid workers. With the rise in the standard deduction from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 under the new tax regime, taxpayers may now have an extra Rs 17,500.
