National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit K. Doval, known as India's James Bond, met his American counterpart in Saudi Arabia. On Monday (May 8, 2023), this was informed by the White House. NSA Jake Sullivan was said to have held a meeting with his Indian counterpart Doval in Saudi on Sunday (May 7, 2023) while the two leaders will meet again on the sidelines of the Quad summit in Australia later this month.
Giving details of the meeting, it was further said, "Sullivan met Saudi PM and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on May 7 in Saudi Arabia to promote a shared vision of a prosperous and more secure West Asia connected with India and the world." Met Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indian NSA Doval.
According to the White House, "Sullivan also held bilateral meetings with the Crown Prince, Sheikh Tahnoon and Doval to discuss bilateral and regional matters." He looks forward to further discussions with Doval on the sidelines of the Quad summit in Australia later this month. The four representatives agreed to hold regular consultations and take further action on the issues discussed during the day.
