Nepal Plane Crash: A plane carrying 19 people crashed at a nearby field of the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu Nepal as soon as it took off and slipped off the runway.

As per the reports from the authorities, the Nepal plane crash occurred around 11:13 am on Wednesday as it took off from the Kathmandu airport.

The Nepal plane crashed into a field to the east of the airport leading to the death of 18 people including one of the pilots.

The plane was heading towards Pokhra from Kathmandu and was carrying 2 crew members and the rest 17 were technicians who were traveling to Pokhra city on Phewa Lake for maintenance inspection but became the victim of this unexpected plane crash.

Meanwhile, only one of the two pilots was able to survive the plane crash, the pilot was Captain Manish Ratna Shakya who was immediately taken to Kathmandu Medical College for immediate treatment.

Captain Manish Ratna Shakya was the pilot of the 9N-AME/CRJ 200 of Saurya Airline and has been working for the airline for over 9 years.

The news company, Associated Press reported that the pilot’s doctor at the Kathmandu Medical College told them that he is out of danger for now but he has severely damaged his eyes.

A CCTV camera captured the exact moment when the plane crashed, the CCTV footage showed that as soon as the plane took off from the airport, it slipped off and falls in a horizontal way to the group.

As soon as the plane crashes into the ground, it turns into a massive fire and emits a large amount of black smoke.

Soon after the plane crash, police, firefighters, and ambulances arrived at the incident spot and carried out their duties.

The Asia News shared a video on X that showed large flames and smoke emitted from the incident site, the video also showed police officers and firefighters executing their search operations.

As per the reports, Saurya Airlines that operates domestic flights in Nepal for more than 20 years using two Bombardier CRJ-200 regional aircraft.
