Terrorist Attack: Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have initiated a massive operation after a terrorist attack at the Indian Army’s new camp in the Gundha Khawas area of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri on Monday morning. However, alert security forces thwarted the terrorists' attempt, and a gun battle was underway.
Defence spokesperson Lt Col Suneel Bartwal said, “A major terror attack on an Army picket in the remote village of Rajouri has been thwarted.” He also added that the operation is in forward movement and the firing is underway. One of the soldiers is reported injured, as per the officials the information is not yet confirmed.

In Gundha, Rajouri, on Monday at 3:10 am, Terrorists attacked the house of a Village Defence Guard (VDC) member. An Army unit near a Village Defence Guard responded, leading towards a firefight. Operations are ongoing, White Knight Corps said in a post on 'X'.

VDG Parshottam Kumar, who was targeted in the initial attack on his house, he recently honoured with the Shaurya Chakra by President Droupadi Murmu. VDG Parshottam Kumar’s uncle Vijay Kumar, got injured and in the terrorists' gunfire, a cattle was killed.

In another incident, in the Sunderbani sector of the Rajouri district security forces at a post near the Line of Control (LoC), late Wednesday, opened fire after spotting some suspicious movement. on Thursday morning a search found evidence about the suspicious activity, officials said.
27 people, including 11 security personnel, a village defence guard and five terrorists, have been killed since the beginning of this year, in many of the attacks that happened in six districts of Jammu.

On Tuesday in a gunfight with terrorists who had heavy arms in the Doda district four army personnel, including an officer, died from injuries.
A week ago in Kathua district's Machedi forest belt incident followed a terrorist ambush, resulting in five dead soldiers and injuries of five others.
