US President Joe Biden Tests Positive for COVID-19, Cancels Las Vegas Campaign Speech

US President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19 while visiting Las Vegas, he will self-isolate and continue to carry out all of his duties fully, and he cancelled the Las Vegas campaign speech.

US President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19

US President Joe Biden Tests Positive for COVID-19: On Wednesday, US President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19 while visiting Las Vegas, the White House said in a statement. It added that in Delaware he will self-isolate and from where he'll continue to carry out all of his duties fully, and he cancelled the Las Vegas campaign speech.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said President Joe Biden will go to his home in Delaware, “self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time.”Biden is vaccinated and boosted, she noted.

“The White House will provide regular updates on the President’s status as he continues to carry out the full duties of the office while in isolation,” she said.

Around 6:30 p.m. ET in Las Vegas, Biden boarded Air Force One the White House pool reported that the president was not wearing a mask while boarding the plane.

Biden told reporters in response at the airport tarmac to shouted questions, “Good, I feel good.”

After he tested COVID-19 positive Biden has taken his first dose of the prescribed antiviral drug Paxlovid and has taken his first dose, O’Connor said. Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the president’s physician, said in a note that Biden “presented this afternoon with upper respiratory symptoms, to include rhinorhea (runny nose) and non-productive cough, with general malaise.”

“He felt okay for his first event of the day, but given that he was not feeling better, point of care testing for COVID-19 was conducted, and the results were positive for the COVID-19 virus,” the physician said in a statement shared by the White House.

According to the doctor, Biden’s symptoms “remain mild,” with a normal temperature and a 97% pulse oximetry reading.

“The President has received his first dose of Paxlovid,” the physician said. “He will be self-isolating at his home in Rehoboth.”

Unidos US President and CEO Janet Murguía first shared the news, who told that the president had sent his regrets and could not appear because he tested positive for the virus at the group’s convention in Las Vegas.

"He said to tell my folks that we're not going to get rid of him that quickly, we're going to have a chance to hear from him in the future directly," Janet Murguia said.

Janet Murguia, the event organiser, has been seen announcing the news that Biden will not be available to a room full of attendees. And she informed that President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19.
