Manish Sisodia Kicks Off AAP’s ‘Padyatra’ for 2025 Delhi Elections on Kejriwal’s Birthday

AAP leader interacted with the people Greater Kailash constituency. They discussed the issues and the Delhi assembly elections in 2025. The former Deputy chief minister said, "felt very happy to be among the people again." The leader was out of Tihar after 17 months.

On the birthday of the jailed chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Sisodia began his padayatra by interacting with party workers and people in the Greater Kailash constituency.

Manish Sisodia said to ANI "The entire Delhi is my family. It feels like I am meeting my brothers and my children. Everyone is asking me if I am doing good, and that they are praying for Arvind Kejriwal to come out (of the jail). Arvind Kejriwal will be released soon too..."

The padayatra was a part of the series of extended programs of the AAP. The march was supposed to happen on 14 August but was postponed due to security concerns.

"When we sought permission from the police, they advised us to delay the start by a few days due to the heightened security and vigilance around August 15. This suggestion seemed reasonable to us," said AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj.

Sisodia posted on X about the crowd of women coming to him to tie him to the rakhis "It was an emotional moment for me. I was away from the people for 17 months but there is no let-up in their love for me," Sisodia posted.

Sisodia said it's for the best that the march got postponed as I got synced to Kejriwal's Birthday" According to the Hindi calendar, his birthday falls on Janmashtami, but according to the English calendar, it's on August 16. Whatever happens, happens for the best—perhaps it was meant to begin on his birthday,"
