Protesting Doctors Demand: The protesters also demanded an apology from the Kolkata Police because they said rumors were spreading about the investigation.

Protesting Doctors Demand: On Monday, the post-graduate trainee doctor colleagues at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital asked why West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee put up a seven-day deadline for investigating the murder and rape of the postgraduate trainee doctor.
The protesters also noted that they would keep protesting until their demands are made.
The West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee earlier said that her administration will transfer the rape case to CBI if the Kolkata police are unable to solve the case within a week.
Mamata Banerjee guaranteed a transparent investigation but the protesters were upset and criticized Mamata for the delay, and demanded a judicial investigation, the death penalty for the killer, and compensation to the victim's family.

The protesters also demanded an apology from the Kolkata Police because they said rumors were spreading about the investigation.
The Junior doctors demanded all the top doctors and staff of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital should be fired and should not get jobs anywhere.
Speaking about the Mamata Banerjee decision, a junior doctor said, “Why is the investigation delayed till Sunday? We are not happy with the probe. Our demands are clear. We want a judicial inquiry into the matter and capital punishment for the culprits. The family of the doctor must be well compensated.”
On Monday, after meeting with the victim's family, Mamata Banerjee addressed the media reporters outside of the post-graduate trainee doctor's house.
She told the reporters that Sandip Ghosh, who was the principal of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital had resigned from the post.

We have also removed the MSVP (medical superintendent and vice principal) due to negligence. The head of the chest medicine department and Kolkata Police’s ACP in charge of RG Kar hospital’s security have also been removed.”
After this, Sandip Ghosh was appointed the principal of the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital but the junior doctors there locked the doors of the principal room.

Among the protesters, a junior doctor from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital said, l"We will continue our protest till justice is served and the state ensures foolproof security for all doctors and healthcare workers.”
