Tragic Stampede at Baba Siddhnath Temple in Bihar: On Monday, in Patna at Baba Siddhnath Temple located on Baravar hills in Makhumpur block of Jehanabad district, seven pilgrims died and nine were injured.
On the occasion of the last Monday of ‘Sawan’ a huge crowd of pilgrims gathered to offer prayers at the temple. According to locals, a fight broke out between a flower seller and a few Kanwarias near the temple, causing a panic situation in the area.
As per the officials, the victims comprised five women and two men. The injured people were quickly taken to the hospitals in Makhdumpur and Jehanabad for medical care.

“We are monitoring everything and now the situation is under control,” Jehanabad DM Alankrita Pandey said.
"Three people who had suffered fractures were sent to Anugraha Narayan Medical College and Hospital in Gaya and others were being treated at the primary health centre and district hospitals," said Pandey.
She states that the reason of the death was a fight broke out between a flower seller and devotees. "That flower seller has absconded after the incident and searches are going on to nab him," said Pandey.

“It is a sad incident…All the arrangements were tight, we are taking stock of the situation and then will further inform you about this…” Vikas Kumar, SDO Jehanabad said.
Jehanabad Station House Officer Divakar Kumar Vishwakarma told ANI. that DM and SP have already reached the spot, he said, "DM and SP visited the spot, and they are taking stock of the situation... A total of seven people have died... We are meeting and inquiring about the family members (of the people dead and injured). We are trying to identify the people who have died; after this, we will send the bodies for a post-mortem."
