‘Lost a Promising Pilot’: Wing Commander Namansh Syal’s Death a National Loss, Says Father
Talking about Namansh Syal his father said that he was exceptional and he was perfect in whatever he undertook. He never failed us and never did so disappointingly.
On Sunday thousands of people attended the funeral of Wing Commander Namansh Syal who was killed in the tejas jet crash in the Dubai air show. When his father, Jagan Nath Syal, was performing the final rites of Syal, he said that his death was a national loss.
On the death of Syal, Jagan said, stating that the country had lost a promising pilot. “It is not just my personal loss: it is the nation's loss.” Syal's father also said that very few people get the honour of serving the country.
Jagan Nath Syal also served in the Indian Army and then served in the education department before retiring as a principal.

Discussing Namansh Syal, his father told that he was exceptional and did not fail at whatever he accepted. He was never a failure and so to speak never disappointed us. His father also told Syal that the last time he saw him, he requested him to send him photos, and Syal responded that he would see it in YouTube.
His mortal remains were first taken to Sulur Air Force Base at Tamil Nadu and were then transferred to his native village with full military honours. Thousands of people come out in the village of Patialkar to mourn him.
According to his colleagues, Syal was a person who was known to be an excellent flyer, and a calm person. Syal was regarded as the best by people with him in the NDA and was given a sword of honour by the NDA. For 8-9 years, he flew the MiG-21 jet.

Syal lost his life on November 21, when he was involved in a crash of his Tejas Light Combat Aircraft in an incident that happened in Dubai. He was born in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh and he has a wife and a six year old daughter, and parents.
The Indian Air Force also honored Syal and recalled him as one who had consistently committed himself to the country. In a post on X, IAF wrote, “A dedicated fighter pilot and thorough professional, he served the nation with unwavering commitment, exceptional skill and an unyielding sense of duty.”
