Kareena Kapoor Reveals Her 'Monastic' Fitness Routine at 44: Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor has once again made headlines, but this time, it's not for a movie or a red-carpet look. In a candid interview with Nod magazine, the actress opened up about her new lifestyle and daily schedule, offering a glimpse into the changes she has made in recent years—especially after becoming a mother of two.
The actress, known for her dedication to fitness and her effortless style, revealed that she has made a conscious shift to prioritise her family, health, and well-being. Sharing details about her routine, Kareena said, “I eat dinner at 6 pm and switch off lights at 9:30 pm. I wake up early for a workout and enjoy some solo time. My friends know not to expect me at parties. And they respect that. They know I’ll be watching Schitt’s Creek on low volume!”

She also said that when the family is together, they like to cook. “We love cooking together as a family. Saif, the kids, me—we’re all in the kitchen. Saif is obsessed with Kerala cuisine. He’s always trying out new recipes—idiyappams, coconut-based stews, everything. Me? I need my one proper Indian meal a day. Non-negotiable.”
Talking about her workouts, she mentioned how exercise provides her with an anchor and helps her find her balance. She continued, “If I don’t work out, I’m in a bad mood. Post-COVID, I realised how important fitness is – not for vanity, but for well-being. It’s my mood stabiliser, my anchor."

This change in lifestyle reflects Kareena’s evolving priorities. Now a mother to Taimur and Jeh, Kareena confessed that her perspective has changed. "It’s not about quantity anymore. It’s about choosing the right roles, ones that challenge me and excite me. I want to preserve my energy, my talent, and myself," she explained. Kareena also mentioned that she’s happy she no longer feels the pressure to chase roles like the younger generation of actors.
According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), studies show that consuming meals later in the day is associated with an elevated prevalence of metabolic disorders, while early time-restricted eating, such as having an early breakfast and an earlier dinner, improves levels of glucose in the blood and substrate oxidation.
Last year, Anushka Sharma also talked about how she hits the bed early. She mentioned that she eats dinner by 5:30 or 6 PM and goes to bed early with her daughter, Vamika. She said, “I eat early dinner and I think it is doing wonders for my health…I feel like I rest better, I sleep better. All my sleep issues are gone. I wake up fresher; I have more energy; I think clearly. I would attribute that to eating early because that’s the only change that I have made in my life."
