Is Apple CEO Tim Cook Stepping Down Next Year? A Reality Check

Apple CEO: In the last few weeks, there's been a lot of talk about Tim Cook stepping down from his post as Apple CEO, with the possibility that it could be as soon as next year. And some are speculating it will be John Ternus, senior VP at Apple, in the running to take his place. But how reliable are all these whispers? Let's dig deeper and get to the bottom of whether Apple's CEO will actually be getting the boot next year.

According to a recent Bloomberg report, it's being said that Apple is mulling over executive-level changes that could include bringing in a new CEO and handing over the reins to a new number one. But whether it's as soon as next year is another story. Mark Gurman notes that these changes are probably on the horizon, but next year might be a bit too soon. And it seems that amongst Cook's many ongoing projects, he's got a few more to wrap up before he gives up the top job.

Gurman also points out that even if Tim Cook does decide to step down, he might not be entirely done with the company. He might choose to stick around, possibly as chairman, because he still seems to have a real passion for the company. Plus, at his age and with all the extra responsibilities he's shouldered, he's probably earned the right to decide when he's good and ready to make a change. And at the moment, he's still in the driving seat and can make that call whenever the time is right for him.

So, for now, it seems we're still just speculating, and a final decision on whether or not to make the switch hasn't been made. But as things stand at the moment, it seems Cook is still pretty much focused on one thing - finishing off his pet project of those AR smart glasses like the ones Meta and Ray-Ban are working on. Apparently, he's really taken an interest in them and might even see them through to the end before he calls it a day.
