According to the AirHelp Score report for 2024, IndiGo has found itself in the "world's worst airlines" list, falling short of the 103rd position out of 109 places with just 4.80 scores.

IndiGo Reacts to ‘World’s Worst Airlines’ Ranking: According to the AirHelp Score report for 2024, IndiGo has found itself in the "world's worst airlines" list, falling short of the 103rd position out of 109 places with just 4.80 scores. Poor customer satisfaction and lack of recognition with respect to handling delayed flights claims lead to low ratings. IndiGo responded to the ranking by criticizing the methodology used, saying that the survey does not disclose the sample size from India 'casting doubt on the survey's credibility'.
A survey conducted by AirHelp, a claim processing agency based in the European Union, evaluates airlines globally. With a survey of about 83 criteria that includes punctuality, quality of service, and handling of compensation claims, these form a hitch-free overall score. The survey takes data received from January to October, collecting on-time performance, customer claims processing, and feedback from approximately 54 countries on food, comfort, and service.
Quoted by Bloomberg, AirHelp CEO Tomasz Pawliszyn states that the rankings are intended to ""encourage airlines to continuously listen to passenger feedback,"" forming just a general picture of airline performance. Topping the list is Brussels Airlines, which scored 8.12, followed by Qatar Airways (8.11) and United Airlines (8.04). Air India, which will thus rank this category's only other Indian airline, placed 61st with a score of 6.15.

Last in the rankings, thus placing 109th, is Tunisair, with highs and lows depicted in the report for this year against travel by air.
IndiGo denied the survey that ranked it among the world's worst airlines on Wednesday, as it claimed that its records about punctuality had always been above average. The airline said survey on its methodology and lack of transparency.
The airline issued a statement noting that the survey did not indicate the sample size from India or take into consideration the methodology and payment guidelines followed by the global aviation industry, thus "casting doubt on its credibility".
The airline reminded its operatives of its impeccable past, saying that it has found a place for itself in all high brackets as far as on-time performance is concerned and boasting the customer complaint percentage among all airlines of similar size and operations at a uniformly low level.
"As India's most preferred airline, IndiGo refutes the findings of this survey and reiterates its promise of on-time, affordable, courteous and hassle-free travel experience for its customers," the statement concluded.
