According to an IMD official, the improvement in air quality could be attributed to the high-speed surface winds which are expected to drag on until December 7.
'These will be followed by another system of western disturbances that would cause moderate fog from December 8 onwards,' he explained.
This is from a total of 38 air quality monitoring stations in the city, of which just one-the Sri Aurobindo Marg-has recorded 'very poor' air quality, while eight others ostensively displayed 'poor' quality. The rest are in 'moderate', according to data from the CPCB.
In the CPCB assessment, the air quality index is between 0 and 50 'good,' 51 to 100'satisfactory,' 101 to 200'moderate,' 201 to 300 'poor,'' 301 to 400 'very poor,' and goes to beyond 400-severe.
