Ilaiyaraaja’s Studio Targeted in Hoax Bomb Email; Security Stepped Up in Chennai
A bomb threat email was allegedly sent to the studio of a well-known music director Ilaiyaraaja in T. Nagar, creating a security panic
On Tuesday, a bomb threat email was allegedly sent to the studio of a well-known music director Ilaiyaraaja in T. Nagar, creating a security panic. It was received by the DGP in his office and the threat mail stated that there had been an explosion planted in his studio.
Upon the alert, the police officers, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) were informed and they arrived in the scene and carried out a comprehensive search. Upon critical examination, authorities found out that the threat was a hoax.

Palaniswami at the Greenways road within the city.
There was an alleged bomb threat e-mail to renowned music director Ilaiyaraaja to his studio in T. Nagar causing a security scare on Tuesday. Another mail also received at the office of the DGP on the threat, alleged that an explosive was planted at his studio.

Searches were conducted also at the residence of a leader of opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami at Greenways Road in the city and the premises of Naam Tamilar Katchi coordinator Seeman and seven other locations.
An initial investigation found out that the mail was comparable to the ones that had been dispatched earlier to some VIPs and civilians in Chennai during the past few weeks. The Cyber Crime and City Police brothers have embarked on the tracking of the source of the email and the sender.
