Delhi Polls: As assembly elections in the capital draw closer, the government Aam Aadmi Party now attempts to woo a new category of voters-the health and fitness professionals.
Several sportspersons including wrestlers and bodybuilders joined the ruling party at the presence of the party convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday. The former Delhi chief minister welcomed fitness influencers Tilakraj, Rohit Dalal, and Akshay Dilawari at party office Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) bestowing them party scarves and caps.

Kejriwal said-round 70-to-80 bodybuilders and wrestlers joined as part of. The AAP chief was quoted by PTI as saying that their association will “not only strengthen the outfit but also associate it more closely with health and fitness issues.”
‘AAP will work to solve the problems of sportspeople from being voted into power’: Kejriwal
Kejriwal promised that after coming back to power in the capital, the AAP party would work towards resolving the problems faced by sportspersons. He added that many more gymnasium owners and sportspersons would join AAP in the coming days.
Speaker of the outgoing Assembly Ram Niwas Goel said the 'Aam Aadmi Party' is now attracting people from these lines who have influence and a huge following across the gyms in the city and would like to join in to contribute to the cause of the party.

"The work done for sportspersons and gyms is commendable. I want to contribute to this mission," Rohit Dalal was quoted by PTI as saying.
"But more than that, I am looking forward to the whole fraternity coming together towards politics," Tilakraj saying, "Many players from Delhi are planning to join us. We are committed to working hard and strengthening the party."
The party Aam Aadmi is seeking a third consecutive government. It got 62 out of 70 in the previous elections. The BJP is in direct contest with the AAP in the national capital. The party won three seats in 2015 and eight in 2020.
Give a party that used to rule the capital some decades back but could not win any seat in the last two elections. Congress-I ruled the capital for 15 straight years under Sheila Dikshit.
