Hours before the meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, chairs of several powerful Senate committees wrote to President Joe Biden expressing their support to end the Israel - Palestine conflict.
Sens. Ben Cardin, D-Md., Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Jack Reed, D-R.I., Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and Mark Warner, D-Va., Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said they are with the two-state solution.

In May Biden proposed a cease-fire whose first phase would have been Israel withdrawing their troops from the populated places of Gaza and exchange of hostages following with letting humanitarian aid reach the people of Gaza. But it was rejected by Israel. The war has resulted in the death of 39000 Palestinians, 1500 Israelis, and 108 humanitarian aid volunteers.
“Breaking the cycle of violence can only happen through a holistic approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including meaningful and tangible steps to create a viable path to a two-state outcome for both Israelis and Palestinians,” the Senators wrote.

The White House said that related to the discussion between Biden and Netanyahu discussion about Israel - Palestine conflict “the need to close the remaining gaps, finalize the deal as soon as possible, bring the hostages home, and reach a durable end to the war in Gaza,”. Additionally, they discussed improving the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The vice president and the nominee for the presidential election Kamala Harris urged the Israeli Prime Minister to put an end to the massacre in Gaza and release the hostages of Palestinians who have been kept captive since 6 October. In her conversation, Harris expressed concern about Gaza and the amount of deaths the people of that land have suffered over the course of 9 months. “There has been hopeful movement in the talks to secure an agreement on this deal,” Harris told reporters shortly after meeting with Netanyahu. “And as I just told Prime Minister Netanyahu, it is time to get this deal done,”
