Army Vehicle Falls into Gorge in J&K’s Bandipora, 3 Soldiers Lose Lives

Three Soldiers Lose Lives: On Saturday (4 January), three soldiers from the Indian Army met their tragic end, while another three received serious injury, after their army vehicle skidded off a road and fell into a gorge. This unfortunate incident happened in Bandipora district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The five injured soldiers have since been receiving treatment in some critical condition at the Army hospital in Srinagar.

”Two injured soldiers also succumbed to injuries, taking the death toll in this road accident to four. The condition of one injured soldier is still stated to be critical by attending doctors”, news agency IANS quoted officials as saying.
Officials said bad weather conditions were likely to blame for the accident, which occurred around 2.30 p.m. near SK Payen area.
"Injured soldiers were promptly evacuated for medical care with assistance from Kashmiri locals, for which we express gratitude towards the citizens in providing immediate succour," they said in a post on X. "Tragically three bravehearts lost their lives in the unfortunate accident. Indian Army extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families," the Army said.

In a statement, the Army said, "A vehicle of Indian Army skid and fell into the gorge due to inclement weather and poor visibility conditions. Injured soldiers were promptly evacuated for medical care with assistance from Kashmiri locals, for which we express gratitude towards the citizens in providing immediate succour."
"Tragically three bravehearts lost their lives in the unfortunate accident. Indian Army extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families," the Army said.
Last month, a similar case of accident was reported from Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch where five soldiers died and five others were injured after the vehicle plunged into a gorge of 300 feet.
