UP Woman, Lover Kill Husband; Take Child Along To Dump Body On Bike

Lover Kill Husband: A woman and her lover killed her husband in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj district and dumped his body 25 km away on the road to make it look like an accident, police told India Today TV. Both Neha and her alleged lover Jitendra, have confessed to the murder and are in police custody.

Neha allegedly called her husband, Nageshwar Rauniyar, to an unknown location, gave him alcohol till he lost consciousness and then, with Jitendra’s help, strangled him and hit him with a weapon. The woman and her lover took the body 25 km on a bike and then dumped it.

According to police, the duo tried to hide the crime. They confessed to staging the accident by taking the body on a bike: Jitendra rode with Neha’s child in front and Neha sat behind with her husband’s body. The body’s feet were dragged on the ground and got injured. After dumping the body they planned to flee to Mumbai but were caught by police near Partawal, tracked through mobile location data and information from the deceased’s father.

On Saturday morning panic spread among the residents after Nageshwar’s body was found. His father Keshav Raj had reported that his son had left home on a bike on Friday afternoon but never returned. Next morning the family came to know about his death. He alleged that his daughter in law had an affair with Jitendra and together they killed Nageshwar and dumped his body to make it look like an accident.

Police revealed Nageshwar had been arrested earlier under NDPS Act for drug related offences. During this period Jitendra developed a relationship with Neha. After Nageshwar’s release he opposed their affair but by then Neha and Jitendra were deep in love and Neha had decided to leave her husband. Police’s attempts to reconcile failed and Neha moved out.

In her statement, Neha said she was frustrated with the marriage and alleged harassment by her husband. She told police she didn’t want to live with Nageshwar, and although divorce proceedings were on, he refused to let her go. He used to call her from different numbers and often confronted Jitendra, and they used to fight daily. Fed up, Neha and Jitendra planned the murder.

"Based on the father’s complaint, we registered a case and interrogated the accused. They confessed to the crime. The deceased and Jitendra were from the same village and worked together. After Nageshwar went to jail under the NDPS Act, Jitendra grew close to Neha. When Nageshwar came out, he became an obstacle in their relationship, so the two killed him together," Inspector Akhilesh Verma told India Today TV.
