UK Man Fined ₹2.8 Lakh for Throwing Parking Ticket at Female Enforcement Officer’s Face
The case has been heard in Truro Magistrates' Court, which was held on Wednesday. Lang did not appear at the hearing, and was found guilty without him.
Recently, a parking ticket was tossed at the face of a civil enforcement officer by a man in the UK, who was fined £2,270 (roughly ₹2.8 lakh) for the offense.
Stephen Lang, 58, of Cornwall was given a parking ticket for parking in an unmarked bay, according to Metro's report. He, however, took the ticket off of his car window and tossed it at the officer's face before he walked away.

Moments later, Lang again walked towards the officer as she picked up the ticket from the ground and tried to return it to the officer's car. He again took it off and crumpled it up and threw it at the officer.
The body-worn camera and CCTV cameras that covered the car park captured the incident.
On November 20, 2025, Lang was initially convicted of littering, Cornwall Council says. He received a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) of £250 (around ₹32,000) for which he was given a reminder and a warning that the case might be sent to Court for prosecution.
The case was heard at Truro Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. Lang did not appear at the hearing, and was convicted in his absence.

The man is ordered to pay £2,270.
He was fined £250, ordered to pay £1,920.90 in costs and £100 in victim surcharge for the total amount of £2,270.90.
Cllr Thalia Marrington, Cornwall Council’s cabinet member for community safety and public health, condemned Lang’s behaviour. It's "unacceptable to litter and to be aggressive to an officer doing her job," she said.
“We will not tolerate any abuse towards our officers,” she added.
Interestingly, UK street littering fine is a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) default of £100 with a range allowed by the local authority of £65 – £500. Fines or Fixed Penalty Notices for dumping litter out of a vehicle also can be up to £500.
The fine increases if an FPN is not complied with or if a case is sent to magistrates' court, to £2,500.
