The video of the Trafalgar Square London has become viral whereby thousands of people gathered to celebrate Diwali 2025 with music and dance. The video was shot in the annual Diwali festivals of the city. The event happened on a Sunday and it turned around one of the most iconic places in the city into a lively place of cultural expression.
The video that was shared via Instagram displays crowds of dancing and shouting people. Sharing the clip, user Nayem Kauser wrote, “Diwali at Trafalgar Square is one of London’s most vibrant and photogenic festivals — a true mix of Indian tradition and British celebration!”
The video has become viral since its spread, as numerous people have celebrated the fact that London welcomes the Indian culture.
“Wow, this is incredible!” wrote one user. “This is so beautiful. I wish I was present here,” commented another.
Diwali festivals in London
In news agency ANI, the celebrations of the day began with a spectacular show by 200 dancers wearing traditional Indian clothes. The central stage during the event had a varied selection of acts representing the Hindu, Sikh, and Jain communities in London and it was a way of sharing values and rich cultural heritage of Diwali.
However, the event was also replete with stalls, which provided Indian delicacies and family activities, like saree and turban tying, yoga and meditation classes, puppet shows and cultural quizzes in the Children Zone.
London Mayor, Sadiq Khan posted on X with his pride in the multicultural celebration of the city. “London is a better, brighter place for our diversity. Wonderful to come together with thousands of Londoners at Diwali on the Square today. Wishing Sikh, Jain and Hindu communities the very best as they prepare to celebrate the Festival of Lights,” he wrote.
“I’m extremely proud that London is home to one of the biggest celebrations of the festival of lights outside of India,” he added.
