Punjab Kings' Cheeky Response to Salman Khan's Old Tweet About Preity Zinta Goes Viral; Fans Urge 'Bring Him to the Final'
The funny tweet lit up social media where fans were urging the franchise to get the Bollywood star to the final.
The now 10-year-old tweet of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was revived on social media following Punjab Kings [PBKS] thrilling victory over Mumbai Indians, giving them a spot back in the IPL final for the first time in 11 years. In 2014, Khan tweeted about Zinta's team winning, to which it was directed at Preity Zinta's franchise, PBKS, along with the added fondness of the actor himself. On Sunday night, PBKS answered yes, they did.

The franchise's cheeky response to the rejuvenated tweet was "See you in the final bhai," sending fans on social media into a frenzy. Fans flooded the comments even going as far as to call for Salman to attend the final. “Bring him to the final,” one user wrote. “You guys need to bring BHAI to the IPL FINAL,” echoed another. “Iss tweet ko Final jeetne ke baad bhi repost karna banta hai,” a fan, which summed of the nostalgia and emotional context surrounding the tweet turning viral.
While that tweet was making waves, PBKS were making statements on the pitch. During a delayed-decision-making-look-nice run out, high-stakes Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League, hosted in Ahmedabad, skipper Shreyas Iyer put on a blistering amount. With 87* runs from 41 balls, Iyer demonstrated how to score runs chasing down a daunting 204 runs against Mumbai Indians. He scored 8 seven-sixes finishing up the job, claiming a five wicket win and ending a long wait for the franchise to get back to the finals.

Shreyas looked like he was still in game mode even after the victory, until he was seen hugging co-owner Preity on the field. The celebratory hug was an emotional focal point in the matches for the fans, many of whom credited her long-standing unfailing support over the years.
With the finals match-up confirmed, Punjab Kings will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru - another team searching for their first IPL title. But off the field, the real winner may be the PBKS social media admin who made an old school Salman Khan tweet the vibe of the tournament.
