Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana Postpone Wedding as Cricketer’s Father Is Hospitalised
Dr. Naman Shah, the Director of Sarvhit Hospital, reported that her father developed symptoms of having a heart attack following pains on the left side of his chest.
The marriage of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana to a music composer Palash Muchhal has been indefinitely postponed after the cricketer father, Srinivas Mandhana, was taken to the Sarvhit hospital in Sangli with symptoms of a heart attack. The ritual was to be held on Sunday, November 23 in her native town in Maharashtra.
According to Dr. Naman Shah, who is the Director of Sarvhit Hospital, Mandhana reported of having symptoms after experiencing pain on the left side of his chest and then he showed the symptoms. He furthered that the breakdown must have been occasioned by the physical and mental pressures that the busy wedding preparations put on him. Dr. Shah has observed that he might need constant ECG observation and, as long as necessary, an angiography.

Dr Naman Shah said, "Srinivas Manandana, Smriti Manandana's father, experienced symptoms of a heart attack around 1 to 1:30 PM after feeling left-sided chest pain. He was immediately transferred to Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Sangli for further assessment.
“Despite his slightly raised cardiac enzymes, he requires ongoing observation. Our cardiologist, Dr. Rohan Thanedar, has examined him as well. There are no new findings on the echocardiogram. However, he may need continuous ECG monitoring and, if necessary, angiography.
"Currently, his blood pressure is slightly elevated, so he needs continuous monitoring...It could be due to physical or mental stress, perhaps because it is wedding season with a lot of hectic activity."
The manager of Mandhana stated that the cricketer made it clear that she did not want to continue with the wedding during a medical emergency of her family.
"Today morning, when he was having breakfast, his health started deteriorating. We waited for a bit to see if he would recover, but his health started to worsen. We didn't want to take any risk. We called an ambulance immediately, and he was rushed to the hospital," manager Tuhin Mishra told India Today on Sunday afternoon.
"He is under observation now.
"We all know how close Smriti is to her father. So, Smriti has decided that the marriage will be postponed until her father recovers."
"He is under observation. Doctors have advised to keep him in the hospital for now. They are conducting various tests."
"We are all in shock. We hope he recovers quickly. This is a big occasion for all of us."
Mandhana and Muchhal were to get married on Sunday in a rather intimate ceremony, and only close friends and relatives were invited. The festivities were already in progress during the last two days, with all the traditional rites like Mehendi, Haldi, and Sangeet. To give it a fun spin, the couple had as well arranged a friendly Bride Team vs Groom Team game of cricket and it added fun and cheer to the guests.
