Odisha Governor Son Allegedly Assaults Raj Bhavan Employee

Odisha Governor Raghubar Das: Odisha Governor Raghubar Das’s son Lalit Das has been accused of assaulting the state government worker who was on duty in Odisha Raj Bhavan.

The state government worker’s wife while speaking with the press said that her husband was beaten badly with five others because he didn't send a car for Lalit Das’s pick up.

The reports said that the assault on government workers took place on the night of July 7 when President Draupadi Murmu visited Puri Raj Bhavan.

HT reported that an assistant section officer, Baikunthanath Pradhan wrote a letter to the Secretary to Governor Saswat Mishra that Governor Raghubar Das’s son Lalit Das was accused of assaulting a government worker in Puri Raj Bhavan on the July 7th night along with five other men.

Baikunthanath Pradhan in the letter said quoted by Hindustan Times, “On 7th July night at around 11.45 P.M while I was sitting in the office room, personal cook of Odisha Governor Aakash Singh came to my office and told me that Lalit Kumar wanted to meet him at Suite No-4.”

“When I went there, Lalit Kumar started slapping me and used absusive language. Feeling helpless, I started running out of the room and hid behind the Annexe building.”

“However, the two PSOs of Lalit Kumar found me and dragged me to Room No. 4 through the lift. Security Personnel and others present there have witnessed this incident.”

Pradhan further stated that the government worker was slapped and kicked continuously in his face and whole body, Lalit Kumar and the five others also twisted his left ankle.

Pradhan also said that the government worker was also threatened that they would murder him if told anyone about this.

The government worker’s wife also asked for strict action against all the accused who were involved in the assault.

Earlier, an aide was issued on behalf of the Governor's son Lalit Kumar that the whole incident was a plot and the person who made the complaint along with the Raj Bhavan cook planned all this beforehand.

The aide further said that earlier there had been many problems with him but the governor's son had nothing to do with it
