Nicki Minaj Backs Trump Amid Democratic Congress Sweep, Hits Back at Critics With 'I Don't Vote, I Veto' Remark

The rapper Nicki Minaj gave a list on X after the setbacks faced by the Republican Party at the 2026 midterm elections, explaining that she was not impressed by the outcome. She also lashed out at critics and steadfastly defended President Donald Trump as Democrats seized control of Congress.

She stressed in her list that despite the results, Trump is still the US President. She added that Florida has made history by electing its first black governor in the form of Republican candidate Byron Donalds, and is expected to elect Rep. Anna Paulina Luna the victor of its 13th Congressional District.

Minaj went ahead and encouraged young Americans to “vote red” ahead of the upcoming 2026 midterm elections, and she extended her support for Trump. The rapper appearing on ‘My View with Lara Trump' that young voters shouldn't think their voices don't count.

“Right now, don't think that you can't get your voice heard,” Minaj said. "Your voice will not only be heard, but your voice is very necessary right now for the country and for the world. We need you guys involved. We need you guys involved more than ever before. This is your country, this is your world. You are the ones that have to reap the benefits of whatever vote decisions we make now."

She also appealed to young people to be involved in their communities and voting at elections other than the presidential election.

Consider the importance of having your voice heard and understand that the only way to have your voice heard is to vote — not just the presidential election — but all local elections.

Then, Minaj urged people to vote for Republicans in the midterm elections.

“Please and vote red now,” she said.
