Delhi News : 3 arrested for giving tickets for taking money in Delhi MCD elections
Om Singh, PA Shiv Shankar Tripathi and Prince Raghuvanshi, relatives of MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi, have been arrested in this case. It is being told that these accused had promised to give MCD election ticket to a woman named Shobha Khari in exchange of money. Shobha Khari's husband Gopal Khari lodged a complaint with the ACB on 14 November.
The Anti-Corruption Branch of Delhi Police has arrested three people for distributing tickets for taking money in the upcoming Municipal Elections (MCD) in Delhi. Among the arrested accused is a relative of AAP MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi from Model Town and a PA. According to the police, these people had promised to give tickets for MCD elections by taking money. Om Singh, PA Shiv Shankar Tripathi and Prince Raghuvanshi, relatives of MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi, have been arrested in this case. It is being told that these accused had promised to give MCD election ticket to a woman named Shobha Khari in exchange of money. Shobha Khari's husband Gopal Khari lodged a complaint with the ACB on 14 November.
Gopal told that he is a worker of Aam Aadmi Party since 2014. According to Gopal, on November 9, Akhilesh's husband Tripathi told him that he would get his wife a ticket from Kamla Nagar ward number 69 and demanded Rs 90 lakh for it. According to Gopal, he gave Rs 35 lakh to Akhilesh Pati Tripathi and Rs 20 lakh to AAP MLA Rajesh Gupta from Wazirpur. Said to give the remaining 35 lakh tickets after getting them but when the ticket list came on November 12, the name of Gopal's wife was not there. When Gopal talked to Akhilesh's husband Tripathi in this matter, he said that no matter what, he will get the ticket in the next election. After this, Gopal complained to the ACB and gave audio and video evidence of the dealing. The ACB team arrested the three accused red-handed from Gopal Khari's house by setting a trap on 15 and 16 November. According to the ACB, at that time the accused had come to return Rs 33 lakh out of Rs 35 lakh.
