Bollywood Star Dad Admits to Cheating on Wife With Famous Co-Star

Veteran Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha has made an unusual public confession in which he discussed his complicated personal life and revealed that he had had two romantic relationships at the same time when he was in his early days in the movie industry.

In a 2024 interview, Shatrughan, with his outspoken ways on and off the screen, talked of his relationships and admitted that when he was married to his wife, Poonam Sinha, he had been involved with actress Reena Roy.

"I’ve made many mistakes in life. For a boy from Patna, getting lost in the glamour of the industry wasn’t a big deal. Perhaps I didn’t know how to handle stardom. People get lost in it all. But having my life partner Poonam in my life helped me immensely," he said.

The actor who became popular through such movies as Kalicharan explained the emotional burden of having to combine two lives."When a man is involved in two relationships simultaneously, it’s not just the women who suffer; the man suffers as well. You feel guilty constantly; guilty when you’re with your lover, guilty when you’re with your wife. It’s a struggle to do right by everyone," he admitted.

Shatrughan also thanked the women in his life and stressed on the lessons that he learnt."I thank all the women who have been a part of my life. I have no complaints against anyone. They have all helped me grow and become a better person," he said, without directly naming Reena Roy.

The actor started dating Reena Roy during the filming of their 1976 movie Kalicharan, and together they worked on many movies like Milan, Sangram, Sat Sri Akaal and Chor Ho To Aisa.

Although he was in love with Reena, Shatrughan affirmed that he had been with her only hours before he married Poonam, a statement that was said to have shocked many people during the time.

In an interview with Lehren Retro, Shatrughan explained how he handled a number of emotional engagements, and it was a fine line. “I would say, sometimes I was in multiple boats,” he recalled, highlighting the complexities of his personal journey.

The actor has opened his soul through his revelations, allowing a rare insight into the human aspect of the celebrity life, rectifying his wrongs, and learning and owing much of his personal development to the unalterable support of his wife, Poonam Sinha.
