Ajay Devgn to Begin Shooting for Golmaal 5 in 2026? Here’s What We Know
It was also stated in the report that Kareena Kapoor Khan is likely to come back in Golmaal 5. Additional information is yet to be given.
The Golmaal comedy series by Rohit Shetty is a much-anticipated film series that is currently preparing to launch the fifth part. Golmaal 5, which stars Ajay Devgn, is reportedly going to go on floors in 2026. The project is the fifth in the series of blockbuster comedies that started back in 2006 and continues to be one of the strongest franchises.
Mid-day reported, “Director Abhishek Pathak wants to ensure that the storytelling is as taut as the first two parts. The team plans to begin shooting in Goa by December and wrap up by March 2026. Kareena (Kapoor) shares great chemistry with Ajay. Since she led Golmaal Returns (2008) and Golmaal 3 (2010), her presence brings a nostalgic charm. The cast will be finalised by December end."

Golmaal 5 Plot Finalised
In June, Pinkvilla was reporting that the fifth installment of the Golmaal franchise is scheduled to go out in early 2026. But until then, Shetty is occupied with the wrap of the Rakesh Maria biopic with John Abraham that is to be completed by September 2025. “Rohit Shetty is presently shooting for the Rakesh Maria biopic with John Abraham in Mumbai. The film will be wrapped up by September 2025, and the filmmaker is aiming to lock the edit by the end of this year, for an early 2026 release. Right after completing work on the Rakesh Maria Biopic, Rohit moves on to the prep of Golmaal FIVE, and take it on floors by February/March 2026," the portal quoted a source as saying.
About Golmaal
In November 2024, Rohit Shetty had validated Golmaal 5. Rohit Shetty stated that he would like to first go back to the light-hearted world of Golmaal before venturing into heavy action. “I think before any cop film for sure, Golmaal will be the next," Shetty had revealed.
In the case of Shetty, the change of the genre is refreshing. He mentioned that he worked on a comedy such as Golmaal following a serious project such as Singham as a detox. “I look forward to making Golmaal after a big project like Singham. It’s lighter and happier, and I’m not as worried," he said.

The Golmaal series began back in 2006 with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited and has since produced three more comedy hits, the last of which is Golmaal Again, which was released in 2017.
Ajay Devgn’s upcoming work
The actor will star in De De Pyaar De 2 next where he will play alongside Rakul Preet Singh. In the recent past, the trailer has been issued. The trailer picks up in the same point where the first film ends, with Aashish (Ajay Devgn) and Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) still having a complicated age-gap relationship. Now Aashish has an even harder task to do, and that is to win over the family of Ayesha in the new film. The two get to the house of her parents, portrayed by R Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor, who desperately attempt to be open-minded until they know that Ayesha is virtually the age of her father. Next, there is the clumsy comedy, touching upon the heart and a reappearance of the best friend of Aashish, portrayed by Jaaved Jaaferi, who attempts to make everything not fall out of proportion.
To make matters worse, there is the personality of Meezaan Jafri, who was introduced by the family of Ayesha as a possible bride to her. What follows is a contest of love, age and acceptance, in Luv Ranjan tradition.
The De De Pyaar De 2 trailer is no exception, as it also honors Ajay Devgn with his instances of classic scene in movies -mentioning his entry scene in Phool Aur Kaante when he was riding two bikes, and the singham step that he steps out of the moving car with full swagger.
