Agra Man Confesses to Killing Mother: Lucknow woke up Wednesday morning to a shuddering incident where a 24-year-old, Arshad, allegedly murdered his mother as well as four sisters in a hotel. It appears that, in a video recorded later, Arshad exclaimed that he crushed a "protection" instinct to keep the family together, saying that he has been forced the neighbours against them, who, as per him, wants to sell his sisters in Hyderabad and eye their property in Agra.
“Our neighbours were trying to take over our property and planned to sell my sisters in Hyderabad. I couldn’t let that happen,” Of the kinds of things Arshad allegedly said in the video, which has gone viral on social media.
The family was originally resident of Agra. The family had taken accommodation at the hotel, keeping the day before New Year's, and they were said to be travelling for New Year's celebrations in the state capital.

On that dreadful night, according to reports, Arshad offered food and drinks to his family with intoxicants in it. After a few hours, allegedly, he murdered the family: some by strangulation and others with a blade. They were all victims, including the mother Asma and four sisters who were aged just 9, 16, 18, and 19, India Today reported.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Raveena Tyagi, deputy commissioner of police (DCP), said, “Today, the bodies of five people were found in a room of Hotel Sharan Jeet. The local police reached the spot, and a person named Arshad, around 24 years old, a resident of Agra, was detained.”

“In the preliminary interrogation itself, he said that due to a family dispute, he had killed his four sisters and mother. Further interrogation is being done,” ANI quoted DCP Tyagi as saying.
Speaking to media persons, Babloo Kumar, joint commissioner of police (crime and headquarters), said, “Bodies of five people have been found – four girls and their mother. The hotel staff said they had come here on December 30, and their brother and father were also there. The matter is being further investigated.”
“Inquiry is also being conducted with nearby hotel staff, and any findings will be shared with the media as soon as they come to light,” PTI quoted Babloo Kumar as saying.
"Regarding the bodies recovered, some show signs of injuries -- on the wrist of one, on the neck of another. Based on these marks, statements from witnesses and the post-mortem report, we are conducting a detailed investigation into the matter," he added.

Arshad recorded video
After killing his mother and sisters, Arshad made the video of the crime and shared it online. In the video, Arshad shows lifeless bodies of his mother and sisters and explains how he killed them, as reported by The Times of India.
As per the reports, Arshad took his family on a visit to Ajmer before returning to Lucknow, just before checking them into the hotel. Late that night, he allegedly used the dupatta belonging to his mother, stuffed cloth in her mouth to silence her, and strangled her. He then again used the same way on his sisters with stuffing cloths into their mouths and slashed their hands using a blade.
He alleged that it was due to the consistent pressures and harassments of his community in Agra that he is pushed to do this dreadful act. He alleged that his father Badar also helped him in the murders, adds the report.
Carrying out the killings, he dropped his father at the railway station before going to the police station to confess. Based on his statement, police recovered the murder weapons: a blade and the dupatta with which crime was committed.
Meanwhile, abducted Arshad's father. The police are reviewing the CCTV camera footage from the railway station to trace the accused and bring him to justice.
