Actor Sharad Kapoor Accused of Molestation: FIR Filed Against Him

Actor Sharad Kapoor Accused of Molestation: An actress Sharad Kapoor who is 32 years old has been alleged to have touched inappropriately by a woman who has claimed he invited her to his place on false pretenses that he wanted to discuss a project. He made unwanted touches and lewd messages to her.

The Khar Police have booked under Sections 74, 75, and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against him, and he has been summoned to question regarding the accusations.

As per the police officials, the incident is said to have taken place on November 26, 2024, when the victim was allegedly called to Kapoor's office by the promise of speaking about work on video reels.

The statement

Mumbai Police registered an FIR against the actor for sexual harassment on November 27. A statement has also been recorded against the actor by the complainant. "Upon arriving, she alleges Kapoor was scantily dressed and tried to attack her. After the encounter, she has been sent obscene messages by Kapoor, including a voice note that added to her distress. The victim has called for legal action against him, asserting that accountability is essential in the entertainment industry," added the police official.

No comments or official statement have been recorded so far from the actor on the allegations made against him.

Sharad began his career in Bollywood in 1994 starring in the film Mera Pyara Bharat. Most stars of the industry have shared screen with him, although he is predominantly perceived in terms of his supporting and antagonistic characters. Some of those films include Josh (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), Dastak, and Lakshya (Hrithik Roshan). Recently, he has appeared in the political drama, Jai Ho, with Salman Khan.
