Young Couple Murdered in Suspected Honour Killing Over Love Affair in UP
The incident has incited uproar in the village with the family of the boy demanding stringent actions against those accused.

Young Couple Murdered in Suspected Honour Killing: A young unmarried couple found dead under suspicious circumstances in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh is raising suspicion of an honour killing case.
According to the police, the deceased Balram (21) and Drishti (18) were murder because of their clandestine relationship by the relatives of the girl.
According to reports, on Sunday morning, Balram had visited her place as Drishti's family had gone away. However, Drishti's father Pushpendra, on returning home, allegedly found the duo in a compromising position.

In a fit of rage, strangled the duo to death with a rope, police said.
They noted that the possible reason for the crime was the caste difference between Balram and Drishti because the boy belonged to the Nai (barber) co.
Following the registering of the FIR by the police based on Rajeshwar's complaint, the inspector Manoj Kumar Chahal from Baraut police station said that Pushpendra and Drishti's cousin Vineet had been arrested by the police.
In this incident, the village was outraged; Balram's family is demanding punishment for the accused. The investigation about this case is still going on.
According to police sources, Drishti was going to computer training in Baraut, while Balram was a first-year BSc student at Janta Vaidik College, PTI reported.
Meanwhile, Rajeshwar, Balram's father, has alleged that his son was at their doorstep when Drishti's brother Shakti and cousin Sumit took him away under some pretext.
Half an hour later, when Balram's phone was found switched off, his relatives started searching for him-only to find out that he got killed inside Pushpendra's house, alleged Rajeshwar.

Telangana court awarded death punishment to man in 2018 honour killing case
In another matter, in Nalgonda district of Telangana, a court sentenced a death penalty to one of the accused in the sensational case of honour killing of a Dalit man in the year 2018.
In penal cases in September of 2018 eight individuals including the woman father's Maruti Rao and uncle had been arrested, what turned out to be a contract killing of ₹1 crore.
Against the agreeable marriage of his daughter, Maruti Rao, who had slain a close friend of hers, conspired with the other accused to kill his son-in-law. At the same time, Maruti Rao allegedly committed suicide at a lodge here in 2020.
