This was announced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and co-supervisor and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghuvar Das. Senior BJP leader Suresh Khanna proposed to make Yogi Adityanath the leader of the legislature party, while it was approved by Surya Pratap Shahi. After this, Yogi Adityanath was unanimously elected the leader of the legislature party.
After the meeting of the BJP Legislature Party, Yogi Adityanath, reached the Raj Bhavan and presented his claim to form the government before Governor Anandiben Patel. Several senior party leaders were also present during this. Earlier, the BJP along with allies submitted the letter to the Governor to form the government with full support.
The Uttar Pradesh assembly election was fought on the face of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given a clear message many times by giving slogans like 'Aayenge to Yogi hi' and from the election platforms that if BJP forms the government again, Yogi Adityanath will be the Chief Minister.
