Atishi Emerges as Front-Runner for Delhi CM: The statement made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday that he would shortly resign from the top post opened speculations on his possible replacement, there are many AAP stalwarts’ names that are being circulated.
Opinion has it that the possibility of a successor person comprises of the present legislatures of Delhi including Atishi, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Kailash Gahlot, Gopal Rai, and Imran Hussain.
The possibility of Delhi’s first lady, Sunita Kejriwal who is Arvind Kejriwal’s wife taking up the position is not impossible as well. A contention has been made that in the future probably the next Chief Minister can be from the Dalit community though no names were given out.

The AAP convenor aka Arvind Kejriwal himself has made it clear that his former deputy Manish Sisodia will not take up the position and that until the elections an AAP member will be the chief ministerial candidate.
The current term of the Delhi Assembly is going to end on the 11th of February 2025. The last assembly election in Delhi was conducted on the 8th of February, 2020. AAP emerged victories in 62 assembly constituencies while the BJP could clinch 8 of the 70 assembly constituencies.
On the other hand, Sisodia has also said, he will contest for vote on the basis of integrity along with Kejriwal and will not take any position until he is cleared by the public.
Atishi has more advantage over the other contenders for the post of chief minister as she managed more departments like education, finance, revenue and law portfolios.

She went public after Kejriwal had chosen her to preside over the Independence Day celebrations and hoist the Indian tricolour. Although this nomination was disapproved and the Delhi Lieutenant Governor appointed Gahlot for this job.
Kejriwal was sworn in as the CM on February 16 and this third term was the results of the polls he won for the first time in 2013. A story published in Hindustan Times says that sources in the office of the chief electoral officer of Delhi revealed that ECI has declared the summary revision of the photo electoral roll in August 2022 with a tentative proposal to hold the state assembly polls in February 2025.
The said exercise is expected to end early January 2025 while the final publication of the electoral rolls is expected to be in 6th January, 2025.
Arvind Kejriwal was sworn into the office of the CM on 16 February, third time since when he first came the poll winner in 2013. A report in Hindustan Times suggests that the Delhi CEO office officials stated that ECI has declared the special summary revision of the photo electoral roll in August in view of the probable schedule of state polls February, 2025.
The continuous exercise is planned to be completed by early January, 2025 and last publication of the electoral rolls is planned for January 6, 2025.
