Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar warned on 'fabricated comment' before George Soros' statement
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar had said, 'There is a need to counter false and fabricated stories that try to bring down India's growth story.' Dhankhar's statement came in the midst of a survey being conducted by the Income Tax Department in Delhi and Mumbai offices of BBC.

A day after US billionaire George Soros made comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar warned against "manipulating narratives" coming in the way of India's development. Addressing the Indian Information Service (IIS) trainee officers at his official residence in Delhi on Wednesday, the Vice President asked the young officers to shun "sinister designs" trying to hurt India's growth story. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar had said, 'There is a need to counter false and fabricated stories that try to bring down India's growth story.' Dhankhar's statement came in the midst of a survey being conducted by the Income Tax Department in Delhi and Mumbai offices of BBC.
The Vice President had said, "India is in progress, by a free fall of information sinisterly designed to propel a narrative. We have to be alert to it. It is another method of attack. We have to neutralize it boldly." We cannot allow the free fall of such fabricated stories to bring down the story of our development."
He said, "Always be alert because things are going viral in a second these days." Indian Information Service officers are the media managers of the Government of India. They act as an important communication link between the government and the people by means of disseminating information and taking various government policies and schemes to the masses.
