Veteran cricketers Including former team India coach Ravi Shashtri have expressed shock on a screenshot of a chat tweeted by Indian wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha.
Saha was allegedly approached by a journalist for an interview and later he threatened him. Saha was dropped from the Indian team for the upcoming two-test series against Sri Lanka.
His tweet has gone viral and former top cricketers have come out to support him. Ravi Shashtri demanded that BCCI President Saurabh Ganguly should step in for this blatant abuse of the position.
"Shocking a player being threatened by a journo. Blatant position abuse. Something that's happening too frequently with #TeamIndia. Time for the BCCI PREZ to dive in. Find out who the person is in the interest of every cricketer. This is serious coming from ultimate team man WS," Ravi Shastri said in a tweet.
Pragyan Ojha and Harbhajan Singh, former India cricketers, asked Saha to disclose the name of the journalist in question.
Pragyan Ojha tweeted, "Please name him wriddhi! I promise you as a representative of players, I will make sure our cricket community boycotts this so called journalist!!,”
Harbhajan Singh also requested Saha to name the person so that the cricket community knows who the person is.
"Wridhi you just name the person so that the cricket community knows who operates like this. Else even the good ones will be put under suspicion.. What kind of journalism is this?". Harbhajan tweeted.
